Basilica Hudson is a multi-purpose cultural center located in the historic industrial hamlet of Hudson, NY. Founded in 2010 by musician Melinda Scanlon and film producer Tony Erba on an abandoned 1.25-acre industrial site, the venue today features art, music, performance, and film events. Formerly an 1880's railroad car wheels factory, Basilica Hudson was pegged early on as a unique venue for local concerts and nonprofit initiatives like The annual FreshGrass music festival and Basilica Farm & Flea market, as well as evening performances from rising artists like Bon Iver and St. Vincent in their indoor/outdoor space. An impressive combination of past and present industry characterize Syracuse's first nonprofit arts organization—what was once home to simmering steel foundries had been transformed into a modern-day nod to Hudson's roots while still delivering current cultural experiences to visitors far and wide looking for something special. Home of the historic Hudson River School of Painters, it's no wonder why this charming small town attracts so many visitors. The town offers a variety of attractions like parks, museums, galleries, antique shops, and wineries. Spend time walking along the waterfront or spend a day boating out on the river and fishing for some local fish or wildlife. Walking tours offer great insight into the city's history as it is home to several National Historic Sites, such as Olana State Historic Site and Clermont State Historic Site, that tell the stories of those who lived in these areas throughout history. Take a walk through Hudson's Greenport Landing with its beautiful views of abandoned shipyards unearthed by volunteers. Enjoy some modern nightlife at urban eateries featuring delicious seasonal fare right on Warren Street. If you're looking for a venue that offers an unforgettable experience, look no further than the incredible Basilica Hudson! Located in historic downtown Hudson, this fully restored 19th-century factory is sure to provide an amazing backdrop for any event, from weddings and music festivals to film screenings and art exhibitions. Make sure to add it to your list of must-see destinations in the Empire States!
